Sri [email protected] platform selects six high potential mid-sized companies in its second round

Funded by the United States, Sri [email protected] ([email protected]) onboarded six high-potential companies to receive business advisory services.  Sri [email protected] will work closely with the six selected companies to identify expansion opportunities, streamline internal operations, and facilitate access to capital to accelerate their growth.

This is the second cohort of companies that have been onboarded to [email protected], a platform supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and administered by Stax, a global management consulting firm. The six selected companies are:

  • Global Vinyl – a pioneer of synthetic leather manufacturing in Sri Lanka as well as a producer of vinyl flooring and sheeting. It supplies to multiple industries including footwear and bag manufacturing, upholstery, and domestic flooring.
  • Greenfield Bio Plantations – a producer and exporter of certified organic and fair-trade
    agricultural products including tea, spices, coconuts.
  • Wavenet International – a provider of customizable software solutions and systems, that has
    enabled network-based multimedia communication to wireless and wireline carriers worldwide,
    catering to over 100 million people across South Asia, Africa, and Asia Pacific.
  • Damsila Resources – an established exporter with over 40 years of experience in the mining and mineral industry, primarily exporting phlogopite mica – from Sri Lanka to Japan, China, Germany,
    and India.
  • Ranfer International – an exporter of agro-products, including tea, spices, desiccated coconut, with tea being its dominant focus.
  • Ramya Horticulture – a company that specializes in the production and export of high quality tropical plants, grown in state-of-the-art nurseries and tissue culture production facilities in Sri Lanka, to markets in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and South-East Asia.

Stax Managing Director and [email protected] Co-founder Dr. Kumudu Gunasekera, commented on the impressive potential showcased by the companies during the application and selection process, in which nearly 40 companies were screened, “I am excited to see the growth potential and high standards of our local mid-market firms, some of which have already made a name for themselves in global and regional markets. Our goal is to help unlock this potential and enable these companies to compete more effectively on the global stage”.

Sri [email protected] is a private sector-led business development platform that was launched in 2020 with support from USAID. This initiative works with high potential mid-market firms to optimize internal operations, access new markets, and attract capital to help Sri Lanka become a high-income country within 100 years of independence.
