US-supported Sri [email protected] conducts webinar, helping SMEs to drive towards “transformational growth”

Sri [email protected] ([email protected]) conducted a webinar on July 22, titled, “Unlocking Opportunities with Transformational Growth” to support high-potential, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the country to adapt to the increasingly challenging business landscape and thereby drive sustainable revenue growth. Attended by more than 200 participants from the private sector and SMEs, the webinar was conducted by Christian Rangen, a strategy & transformation advisor to companies, innovation clusters, and governments around the world and an expert on strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and transformation.

Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), [email protected] is a private sector-led business development platform that was launched in 2020. The platform works with high potential mid-market firms to optimize internal operations, access new markets, and attract capital, to help Sri Lanka in its journey to become a high-income country within 100 years of independence.

Transformational growth typically refers to a decisive shift in an organization’s capabilities that leads to accelerated growth and value creation. The webinar discussed the principles of transformational growth, the importance of transforming and ways in which companies can successfully implement growth strategies. Webinars such as this are part of [email protected]’s capacity-building efforts and are open to a broad audience of SMEs, entrepreneurs, and young leaders.

Commenting on the importance of transformational growth, Dr. Kumudu Gunasekera, Co-founder of [email protected] stated, “Transforming an organization is complex and challenging even in normal times. In the post-pandemic environment however it is critical for business leaders to challenge the status quo and re-imagine the future of their businesses.”

Meanwhile, USAID Mission Director for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Reed Aeschliman said, “It
is heartening to see [email protected] webinars with such high-profile speakers helping local businesses to navigate uncharted waters. At USAID, we believe promoting private sector-led economic growth is essential to helping countries like Sri Lanka become stronger trading partners. This is why American people invest in initiatives such as the [email protected], helping build new markets, strengthening trade capacity, and increasing incomes.”

The Transformational Growth webinar was supported by Stax Inc., NDB Bank, Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM), American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Sri Lanka.
